Scouting at St. Francis
Cub Scout Pack 700 · Scouts BSA Troop 23
St. Francis in-the-Field is the chartered organization for Cub Scout Pack 700 and Scouts BSA Troop 23, which means that this parish takes formal responsibility for their life and their leadership, and that both units call this place home.
Scouting and the Christian life ask many of the same things of a young person: that they keep a promise, that they take responsibility for someone smaller than themselves, and that they learn to be useful. We are glad to have that work happening on our grounds, and gladder still that it happens with adults who have been trained and screened to do it well.
Cub Scout Pack 700
Kindergarten through fifth grade
The Pack is where it begins, with families alongside their children rather than dropping them off: camping, pinewood derby, service projects, and a good deal of learning to tie things.
Scouts BSA Troop 23
Ages eleven through seventeen
The Troop is led by its own young people, with adults standing behind them rather than in front. Backpacking, high adventure, rank advancement, and the long road toward Eagle.
Both units welcome new families, whether or not you belong to St. Francis or to any church.
